The new Kunza Hotel, in San Pedro de Atacama, has changed our perception of the desert. A large citadel has arisen under the watchful eye of the Licancabur Volcano, in the shadow of the “chañars” and between the desert lakes, perpetuating the simplicity of the indigenous people without neglecting the comfort offered by a luxury five star establishment. This oasis, located in the Ayllu de Yaye, almost 2 km south of the emblematic town of San Pedro de Atacama, is the culmination of a an ambitious project led by outstanding professionals. There are 5,600 m2 of built areas in a unique landscape of vast plains with a predominant view of the Licancabur Volcano and the La Sal mountain range and a masterly arrangement of spaces by the architect Cristian Boza, in harmony with the geography of the area, incorporating natural elements typical of the zone.
